HUBZone helps small businesses compete for federal procurement opportunities.
SUPERIOR, Wis. (December 21, 2020) – Fraser Shipyards, Inc., a full service shipyard with over 130 years of operations on Lake Superior, is pleased to announce that it has received HUBZone certification by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The HUBZone program is designed to help small and midsized businesses compete more effectively for federal government contracts.
“The HUBZone program will enable Fraser Shipyards to more effectively compete for marine related business from various government agencies – such as the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and The United States Army Corps of Engineers.” said Dave Steininger, Fraser Shipyards President. “This certification has the potential to bring additional jobs and opportunity into the region through projects awarded to Fraser.”
Under the program, government agencies are incentivized to consider bids from HUBZone businesses located in designated regions of the country. Moreover, HUBZone-certified businesses can receive a price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions.
